A brilliant fanfare for Easter morning, Hale’s work is scored for five trumpets, three trombones and tuba. The original Gregorian chant is used throughout whether stated explicitly or in motivic fragments. There is a constant rhythmic energy that is entirely appropriate for Easter. While excellent for worship, this could also be used to open a brass concert.
